The issue has a code
people can say aloud.

Tasks and issues with status, assignment and priority, viewable as a board or a list, reachable by a short code, and with watchers who are told when something changes. A duplicate is marked as one rather than deleted, because the conversation on it still matters.

Deleting a duplicate loses the discussion. Marking it keeps both the record and the thread that explained why.
